As far as what inspired this, I grew up hearing music that would probably be ancient by today's standards.  The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Supremes, the Who...it's practically the only kind of music that I can listen to and actually like now.  Even if there are a lot of catchy songs today, I guess I'm just biased to like older music because it's what I grew up with.

That, and Fluttershy would make a pretty awesome Paul McCartney.  /headcanon
